Hail Damage
We were so very lucky to only have some limbs in our yard and hail damage. We did not loose electricity like so many others did. We feel blessed to have a/c with all this heat.

Finished My Wool Applique Pumpkin Patch Mat!!
YEH! I finished my wool applique fall mat. The first picture shows the real colors.
I know we are in the heat of summer, but I am looking forward to using this mat. I have some small pumpkin guys that I will sit in the corner where the candle is. Or I just might put a fall, grubby candle there!! Who knows!!!

Just finished a penny rug from a pattern by Cath's Pennies Designs called "Snow". If you check out her pattern, you will see I left off the "snowflakes" she has in the original design. I love the colors of white with the slightly off white wool that I dyed myself.
Work in progress!
Now I am "waiting for the snow!!" in the middle of this May heatwave!

"Run for the Dream"
Picture of my husband and I just before we ran the 8K "Run for the Dream"...for the wounded warrior program. There were runners from all over the US. A group of wounded warriors started the race and it was so very inspiring. A heartfelt thanks to all our military service men and women who are active duty or retired--my husband being one. Our colonial fife and drum corps got everyone ready. And when the National Anthem was sung--it gave me goosebumps. Won't post an "after the run" picture--too scary!!!

Well, anyone who has been on a trip knows it takes forever to "play catch up"...and that is what I have been doing for several weeks. HaHa--still not caught up! Looking at my blog, I see I have to spend some real time moving things around and making it look nicer...
But I have a few pictures I will post for now. No not of trip, but a few of my favorite things...around my house....
This is a short wall in my breakfast area, looking into my kitchen. A very good friend of mine made the Americana stocking with flag, crow and star as a gift for me. I just love it and treasure it. The box above it was a junk find years ago. I cleaned up and painted brick red . I did the x-stitch and cat on the box and added old spools. I have old potato mashers on the shelf and another painted picture. Today I switched things a bit and added more Americana for the summer--forgot to take new picture. Hope you enjoy. Will add another picture tomorrow...

Thought of a tip to share with you all. You probably already know, but a reminder. Put a clean tennis ball in the dryer with your clothes. Cheaper than the dryer balls you buy and works wonderful.
I wash a lot of wool and dye wool. I always add a clean tennis ball as the wool is drying--along with an old towel. Really fluffs up the wool and keeps it so nice. Try it!!!
Have a wonderful Easter weekend. Blessings to all.

Can not believe it has been so long since I have posted. I intend to "start over" and do a better job...I have really gotten into wood working and went back to working with wool-- penny rugs and rug hooking--those 2 do go together--right???
I built a "bucket bench" --since it is more like a cabinet without doors, not sure how it got that name, about a year ago. I have never been happy with the final paint finish. So I will be redoing the whole thing. I will post pictures of the progress. My garage is full of old wood pieces I have picked up at shops and here and there...and I need to refinish and rework them...my work for the summer is waiting for me!! So many projects--so little time. And of course my love of doll making is always driving me in that direction.
If my camera is back to working properly, I will post pictures of things I have just finished and any little hints/tips I figured out along the way.
Having said all this, I will be on vacation in Florida for about 10 days, but after that I will try to keep on the ball....
Thank you my primitive sisters if you have found me again. My ETSY site will be up in a few weeks --after vacation.

BUSY-BUSY
It has been a few weeks since I last posted. The yard keeps calling me outside and I love it. I am posting a new picture of part of my yard--my serenity garden again. I still have more flowers to put out today, but it turned so hot so quickly--had to hold off on my planting. This year I am trying to grow some herbs again. They always "fry" on our deck, no matter how hard I try to keep them watered. We will see how this year goes.
Also been busy with a small remodel of our bathroom. Had a new tile shower put in. LOVE IT!!
So then I had to paint the bedroom and bathroom and that really took a week...and then of course you have to clean out closets,etc.... I am now working on making new curtains, ordered a new bedspread, etc. I hung pictures I bought months ago. Of course that was fun as I changed my mind on placement and I patched more holes than you can imagine...... and then reworking what you have is so much fun!!! I have moved things I have from other rooms here there and everywhere.... My first pictures came out very dark, but I will post one for now to give you an idea. I HAVE NOT FINISHED MY DECORATING YET... please remember that--LOL..
Enjoy the beautiful day no matter where you are....or what you are doing....

Weekend in DC
We took a quick trip to DC this past weekend. It turned very windy and chilly on Saturday and Sunday was worse. My poor husband forgot his jacket, but the rest of us had jackets and it was still a little chilly..
It never amazes me that no matter how many times we go to DC, there is always something so wonderful to see and experience. We had a wonderful time and I will share a few pictures...
The flowers were beautiful!!!
There was a picture of me, but it is so bad, I refuse to post!!!!
Have a beautiful day...

What I finished TODAY
I was just not overly excited about the way a pillow turned out that I had hand stitched and had for sale on ETSY. Today I took it all apart and redid the pillow. I really like it now. It is relisted on ETSY if anyone is interested. BEFORE:

MY Serenity Garden
Before the high winds blow all the flowers off my pear trees, I had to share this picture (picture taken in early morning light--sorry). My garden is still asleep from winter, but the trees are in full bloom. I have the pear trees lining my garden, my back yard and up the side. Lots of pear trees!!! I planted ever one of them. I think at last count there were over 30 or more. Every tree was carried home in the back of my Honda Pilot!!!! Can not believe how they have grown from the tiny "twigs" they were.... Can not wait to plant more flowers--as if I don't have enough--- and for my azaleas to bloom... And for all the bulbs and other flowers to wake up.....Come on flowers!!!
HAVE a wonderful Spring day, where ever you are!!!
